Statement of Faith

New Revelation Christian Church is an Interdenominational church, believing that most of the issues that separate Christian churches are not essential doctrines of faith that would demand a total separation from those believing differently than we do. We believe that there is room enough in the Body of Christ for people who may believe differently on some issues of the faith, even though this is certainly not God's ideal.

We at New Revelation Christian Church, we believe and teach the following:

The Scriptures

  • That the Holy Bible is the indisputable, unadulterated, supremely authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

  • That the Holy Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) is the full and complete canon of Scripture. Both are needed, and nothing else may be added as an absolute authority in the Church.

The Nature of God

  • That our one God expresses Himself eternally in three distinct ways and manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)

  • That Jesus the Christ is the second manifestation of the Godhead, the eternal Son, and that He is, as are the other two expresions of the Godhead, all God (not one-third). (John 1:1-4; Colossians 2:9; I John 5:5)

  • That Jesus the Christ was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life as an example to us, was resurrected from the dead by the Father, and is now at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. (Isaiah 7:14; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25)

  • That the Holy Spirit, the third manifestation of the Godhead, immediately takes up residence within every believer at the point of salvation. (Romans 8:9b; Revelation 3:20)

The Nature of Man

  • That man is a spirit being (the complete essence of who he is) that lives in a body (a physical shell that houses the spirit and soul) and possesses a soul (a will, intellect, emotions, desires). (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

  • That the body, soul and spirit of a man lives forever in either heaven or hell, the bodies of believers being transformed from the current corruptible state to a glorified one. (1 Corinthians 15:52-54; Revelation 20:15, 22:14)

The Church

  • That the Church is the Body of Christ, a spiritual family of believers linked by blood, the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 3:29)

  • That the observance of the Lord's Supper (Communion) is in remembrance of Jesus' Christ's death, the bread being symbolic of the wounded body and the wine being symbolic of the shed blood. (1 Corinthians 11:24-26)

  • That the church is to be financially supported by the tithes and freewill offerings of the saints; not by dues, subscriptions, fees, or other financial obligations. (Malachi 3:8, 10; 1 Corinthians 16:2)

  • That the Lord Jesus will return in the clouds to rapture His church away to eternal life. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

The Christian Life

  • That salvation is a free gift to all who confess Jesus as Lord and believe that the Father raised Him from the dead. (Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8)

  • That we are justified by faith and by works, which are the products of our faith. (Romans 5:1; James 2:24, 26)

  • That if we confess our sins to God (not to man), He will forgive us and cleanse us from the unrighteous act. (I John 1:9)

  • That baptism in water by full submersion in Jesus' name is required of every believer (though not required to actually become a believer), being symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-5)

  • That the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation today. (1 Corinthians 12:7-10)

  • That the baptism of the Holy Spirit (being filled with the Holy Spirit) shoud be sought after by every believer, being initially evidenced by speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4, 10:44-46; Ephesians 5:18)

  • That without holiness no man will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)
